Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 5, 2026

I know you're trusting me with your information, often at a moment when you're already stretched thin. Here's exactly what I collect, why, on what basis, and how you stay in control of it.

This is a general policy covering juliaurban.com and everything on it — the site itself, any lead magnets, quizzes, or opt-in forms I offer now or in the future, and any email communication that follows from them. Where a specific product (like a quiz) collects information beyond the general basics, that's called out in its own section below, so you can see exactly what applies to what you signed up for.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to juliaurban.com and any form, quiz, download, or email opt-in hosted on it. It's written by me, Julia Urban, and it applies to anyone who visits this site or submits their information through any form here.

Who is responsible for your data (the "controller")

Julia Urban is the data controller for the information described in this policy. I'm currently operating as an individual, not through a registered company. You can reach me directly at [email protected] for anything related to your data or this policy.

What I collect across the site

When you browse the site:

  • Standard technical data most websites collect automatically (browser type, approximate location, pages visited), used only to understand how the site is used and to keep it running smoothly.

When you opt in to a specific quiz, download, or email list:

  • The information described in that product's section below.

Why I collect it, and on what legal basis

  • To deliver whatever you asked for (a quiz result, a download, a reply). Legal basis: this is necessary to provide the service you asked for by submitting the form (performance of a request you initiated / legitimate interest in delivering what you signed up for).
  • To send you updates, launch information, and occasional related content, where you've opted in. Legal basis: your explicit, separate consent, given through an opt-in checkbox at the point of submission. You will never be added to a marketing list simply by using a quiz or downloading something.
  • To understand, in aggregate, what visitors are struggling with, so I can keep improving what I offer. Legal basis: legitimate interest, using aggregated and anonymized data wherever possible.

I do not sell your information. I do not share it with advertisers. I do not use it for anything beyond what's described here.

Who else sees this data

Your information is stored and processed through Brevo, the email platform I use to send you results and any follow-up communication. Brevo is contractually bound to data protection standards under GDPR and is based in the EU. My website is hosted through Fast Comet. Neither of these providers uses your data for their own purposes, and both act strictly as processors on my behalf.

Where a specific product uses a different or additional processor, that's noted in its own section below.

Product-specific sections

Sleep by Friday sleep quiz

This section covers the Sleep by Friday sleep quiz specifically, in addition to the general terms above.

What I collect:

  • Your email address
  • Your answers to the quiz questions, including your baby's age range and sleep patterns, and details about your own reactions (for example, how you respond when your baby cries)

I want to be direct about one thing: some of these questions ask about your own emotional and physical responses, not just your baby's sleep. I treat that information with extra care and only use it to generate and send your personalized result — never for anything else, and never shared beyond what's described in this policy.

I do not collect your baby's name, or any information that identifies your baby as an individual. The quiz answers describe a situation, not a person.

How long I keep this data:

  • If you don't opt in to marketing updates: your quiz answers are deleted shortly after your personalized result email is sent. Your email address may be kept for a few additional days solely to resolve delivery issues (for example, if the email bounces), then deleted.
  • If you opt in to marketing updates: I keep your email address, and only your email address, for as long as you're subscribed. Your detailed quiz answers are not retained long-term for this purpose.
  • If you unsubscribe: your data is retained only as long as needed to honor that unsubscribe request (so I don't accidentally re-contact you), then removed.

(Future lead magnets, quizzes, or downloads will each get their own section here, describing exactly what they collect and how long it's kept.)

Your rights

Because I'm based in France and this site serves an international audience, I apply GDPR protections to everyone, not just EU visitors. You have the right to:

  • Access the data I hold about you
  • Correct anything inaccurate
  • Delete your data entirely
  • Restrict or object to how I use it
  • Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, with no explanation required

To exercise any of these rights, email me directly at [email protected]. I'll respond within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with how I've handled your request, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority — in France, this is the CNIL (cnil.fr), or the equivalent authority in your own country of residence.

If you're in the United States

I don't sell or share your personal information for cross-context advertising, and I don't discriminate against anyone for exercising their privacy rights. If you're a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information I hold about you, request its deletion, correct inaccuracies, and opt out of any sale or sharing of your data (which I don't do). Contact [email protected] to exercise any of these rights.

Unsubscribing

Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click, no questions asked, no delay. Note that an initial email containing something you specifically requested (like a quiz result) is a direct response to your request and isn't a marketing email in itself — unsubscribing from future updates won't affect your ability to request that again in the future.

Cookies

This site uses a limited set of cookies for basic site functionality (such as remembering your display theme) and analytics. Where analytics cookies could identify you individually or track you across sessions or sites, I will ask for your consent before they're set, in line with EU rules on cookies (ePrivacy). This site does not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Changes to this policy

As I add new quizzes, downloads, or products to this site, I'll add a corresponding section above describing what they collect. If this policy changes in any other meaningful way, the "last updated" date at the top will reflect it. I won't make material changes without making them visible.

This document is a starting template and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Before publishing this on juliaurban.com, have it reviewed by a GDPR-qualified legal professional, especially given the EU audience and the health-adjacent nature of some of the content. This is standard practice for any business collecting personal data in the EU, not a sign that something here is wrong.
